Engine Compartment Cleaning

Make sure the engine is cool before cleaning in the engine compartment. Spray an engine cleaner or an all purpose cleaner like Simple Green® on a rag and then wipe down the surfaces. Do not spray the cleaner directly on engine components. Today’s cars have lots of wires, connectors, and fuse blocks in the engine compartment. Moisture will cause damage to the electrical components. Again, spray the cleaner on a rag and then wipe. Take your time. After everything is clean, spray a product like Armor All® on a rag and wipe the rubber and plastic components. Don’t use a hose or pressure washer to spray the engine. If your vehicle’s engine compartment is dirty beyond wiping, it is best to take it to a professional engine cleaner.
