Dirty windows can lead to unsafe driving. At night, windows that have a film over them glare. Use an auto-approved glass cleaner with old newspapers, lint free cloths, or microfiber cloths. Clean the rearview mirror too. If you have custom tinted windows, where the tint is not part of the glass, do not use a window cleaner that contains ammonia. Using a windshield treatment product like Rain-X® on the outside of the windshield will smooth the glass surface and repel water, providing protection similar to wax on a vehicle’s finish. Wipers moving across a smooth windshield are less likely to skip.
