Tread Design

Tires are generally classified as all-season or snow tires. All-season tires will meet most consumer demands throughout the year. Snow tires have a more aggressive tread and are more flexible, giving them superior traction in the winter. An all-season radial may have a “M+S” (mud and snow) designation, but it is not a certified snow tire unless the tire’s sidewall has a snowflake-on-a-mountain icon.
